We are delighted to announce another significant grant for the Ulva Ferry Community Bus! Big Lottery Fund Scotland has awarded £28,406 to enable us to keep the Bus on the road.

A huge thank you to Big Lottery Fund Scotland for their commitment to Ulva School Community Association and Mull and Iona Community Trust, acknowledging the essential service the Community Bus provides to Ulva Ferry residents.

New Electric Vehicle

From August 6th we plan to introduce a new vehicle to complement the bus.

We will be running a Nissan Leaf - a fully electrical vehicle - which we can use for community runs instead of the bus when there are fewer passengers.

The bus will still be available for when there are 4+ passengers or when the wheelchair lift is needed.

The Leaf cannot be used on the scheduled service, because of the regulations that apply to those journeys.

We are hoping that the Leaf will offer a more comfortable ride for our passengers and (most importantly) will make a significant reduction in emissions, especially when transporting fewer passengers.

As ever there are regulations that we need to meet and one that applies to cars when used as community transport is that passengers must pay their 'own fares'.

For this reason we have had to draw up a fare list - similar to that used on the scheduled service - you can find details on this flyer.

As with the bus we are unable to accept concession cards on the community runs.
